About the Composers

Simon Cooper is a professional composer and producer of Ambient, Chill-Out, Downtempo, World Lounge and Relaxation Music with currently a total of 15 albums released worldwide on various labels.

Simon has written many successful solo albums, including Hymns of the Ancient Fire, Millennium Eclipse, The Jeweled Planet etc. His groundbreaking album Music for Mother and Baby has become one of the biggest selling CDs in the genre and Simon's subsequent releases Music of the Womb and The Gift of Sleep have further enchanced his reputation as a pioneer of music for parents and babies.

Simon has also released music as the globally successful chill-out/downtempo artists Groovecatcher and GXR, the albums After The Rain and Skylines reaching the Top 10 in iTunes album charts worldwide.

Simon's music, Groovecatcher's and GXR's music have been released and published by labels such as Sony Music, Universal, Hed Kandi, Polygram, Island, Warner, Zyx Music etc. To date Simon's work has appeared on over 150 compilation albums, appearing alongside artists such as Enigma, Thievery Corporation, Clannad, Groove Armada, Jean Michel Jarre, Moby, Vangelis, Adiemus, Loreena McKennitt etc.

Simon writes, records, designs and produces his albums from his own digital recording and production facilities in West Cornwall U.K., enabling him to work independently and to the very highest standards on each project he undertakes. A proud father himself, Simon dedicates his compositions to all parents and babies worldwide and to those who find peace through music.

Jean Erasmus is a medical practicioner, life coach, author and composer. He has written music for several short film projects and is the songwriter, composer and producer of the Sibling Tide album Philosopher's Heart.

As well as music, Jean also has a great interest in the holistic approach to personal wellbeing. His research into alternative medicine, comparative mythology, mysticism and quantum physics led him to write The Sleeper Must Awaken, a book that promotes an holistic path to self development and health.

Classically trained as a pianist, the visual and emotional side of Jean's music led fellow composer Simon Cooper to approach Jean to be the first artist on Simon's new BEAUTIFUL BABY MUSIC label. Jean's debut album for the label Mother and Baby Moments released in September 2009 is a beautifully crafted CD of evocative and delightfully relaxing music for both mother and baby.

Jean lives and works in the U.K. and South Africa, and is married with 2 baby sons, whom he decicates as the inspiration behind his music.
